Broken computer people

the greatest pain is seeing someone you love
hurt by someone they think loves them back

when they don't, they couldn't, they never learnt how to do it properly
aka like a fully functioning human being
Most of these broken computer people go mad or end up alone
They never change cause they can't reflect on the errors of their ways
blinded by false bravado and narcissistic flowers
lost in maternal disarray is no excuse for never being held as a child
some people would turn and run choose to save themselves
but others stay (like me)
after fright or flight dissipates
the drive to banish evil festers great
like a rock that is only slightly worn by waterways
hope springs eternal like a red summers day
some people will never see the errors of their ways
For the real world is beautiful or cloaked in grey

the rich exiled to the streets pan-handling

I want to reshape the world
so you bow at my feet
So ill never have to phathom bending the knee
I want to reshape the world     So We are free Free from mans sins
That drench the world in monkey business
Human instincts 35 million years old
What is the point of impoverishing us all
The young.  The unborn
The working poor
With not a cent to her name she continues on
Running herself into the ground tank on empty the orange light beaming out
Is it funny do you cackle all alone when your shut up tight in your smug little home
Have you ever struggled to pay for the glutinous food that dances upon your dinner plate
To pay the rent  is to smother man in a garden made of sand
Has the will ever left you to get up out of bed
On a bright sunny morning with sunlight streaming in
Well many do.  Mostly likely never you. But I change is near for the corrupt I fear
the people shall descend    Devoid of fear   The mob will rule  like the wairau affair
To the great suburbs they march  with taiaha and bull bars To steal back there mana
Like deadly gentle soldiers peaceful at heart
who would rather be practicing sculptural art in a modest garage
It's funny to think how expediently   the rich can lose
Exiled to the streets pan handling

my mum thinks I'm more talented than Mozart

My mum thinks I'm more talented than Mozart
But I can't compose a beautiful melody
My prose and words come out like deformed versus of poetry
My tempo and time always race or decline
My mum thinks I'm more talented than Mozart, She's so kind

A short poem inspired and written for a beautiful woman

You wouldn't want too   Go on a date sometime.  Would you
For I would love too.  Wine and dine.   With you
We could spend some money and time together
Please Forgive me If am so bold.   But i have noticed your ways and your won'ts
Plus how you dress and caress and love everything best
If I could     I would    Take your hand in mine
So overtime I would become yours.  And you would become mine.

my heart is a wounded animal running through a forest

My heart is a wounded animal  Running through a forest  lost Never to be seen again slowly faltering confused inconsolable darting down a dead end path as the sun falls in the sky releasing a phantasmic sunset I am alone leaking the last remnants of life force        my God given body ceasing to function amongst the trees all sullen unmoving indifferent to my deathly howls of pain.     In contrast woken from a tearful slumber countless birds look with sadness and dis-belief as I fall my faulty ankle giving way thrown by gravity yet I tumble with delight down the weathered cliff face alas my saving grace in a moment of free fall I am juxtaposed entire abruptly halted in my tracks as the hounds viciously round the corner there well trained snouts have misplaced my scent to them it seems as if I have foolishly disappeared without a trace

Things that inspire me blue tacked to my Wonderwall of dreams

Visualisation and inspiration wall is off to a roaring start :) you shouldn't be afraid to manifest your dreams πŸ˜‡

Very Tall stories and Beautiful woman on the monied side of town (Ponsonby)

Sunday afternoon πŸ˜†πŸ‘ went to see a gig last night at Golden dawn really enjoyed the set from Very Tall Stories - great jazz funky rnb grooves with beautiful trumpet and saxophone solos with tasteful raps In-between 🎼🎀crowd loved it I had a quick chat to bandleader Tomas then rolled on home after eating some nachos in Ponsonby. Some very beautiful people out and about in the monied part of town. It's rather strange when you see a striking person with a bald aggressive person who looks controlling and unpleasant. I also dropped into The Bedford wow it was just wall to wall beautiful woman. As well as the occasional awkward date and long term couple trying to keep the flame alive. It was a shame the music was a bit loud as it hinders the ability to chat to people haha. Still it's pretty obvious when a girl gives you the eye when she's sitting at a table slightly bored with her mates. It's nice to be appreciated by others when your just being yourself. Avoiding assholes and douchebags really helps haha 😜

Fuzzed Out at Fuzzy Islands - Bozo, Astrochildren, Miss June

Bozo:

If your a fan of psyched out U.S college radio friendly music this band is for you. Yolanda (singer/drummer) and gang offered some trippy tunes their overall sound was accentuated with some tasty snare accents and singing processed through a phased chorus cloud of reverb. Guy also of The Echo Oh's played some concrete riffs and chords on rhythm guitar anchoring the whole group whilst demonstrating some impressive musical leadership. The younger guitarist in the band who plays with New Gum Sarn also threw up a collage of delectable lead riffs and scales that added complexity and shimmering colour to the bands sound. The musical rapport between the younger guitarist and Guy was obvious to myself in the crowd leaning on the pillar at Fuzzy islands. It's always a beautiful thing to witness two musicians in sync parlaying riffs off against each other adding to the bands high stakes performance.

Another thing I liked about Bozo was the dedicated percussionist playing tambourine. By playing sixteenth and quarter notes on the tambourine as well as solidifying the backbeat on the two and the four this freed up Yolanda to play more toms and rolls while singing. The percussionist effectively eliminated the drummer from needing to play the standard rock drum beats and allowed her to play nice ride patterns and tribal patterns. I also thought Yolanda had a natural and well poised technique with even hitting that mad the drums sing, smashing the crap out of a kit can get rather boring and sadomasochistic.

The bands first and middle songs of the set I found to be there strongest. One song that jumped out had a great dynamic guitar motif where the band would get louder for a certain refrain with an almost ear splitting ripping apart of the song by the musicians before being quickly super glued back together. I almost forgot to mention the young female keyboardist/singer/bass player who shared vocal duties carrying the band for certain numbers. I found the juxtaposition of to singers pretty kick ass as you would never know who was gonna sing the next song. I was also deeply impressed with the musical low end of the young female musicians bass playing. To sum up a raucous cacophony of buzzy music.

Astrochildren:

Hailing from Dunedin the windswept two piece were hanging on the walls of Fuzzy Islands pre-gig when I paid my door charge to see them. After releasing their first record on Muzai records they're and their latest release themselves they preformed a formidable set on the night alongside Miss June who played after them. When my friend and I skipped over the entrance to the gig people were still running late to the maxed out show so we dipped outside to get a drink and turned up a bit later. Our stamps were studiously studied for possible forgery and we again re-entered Fuzzy Islands. Dis-claimer this was my first time at said venue which I liked. After Bozo played DJs spun indie approved obscure records before Astrochildren tuned up and turned their lone amp up to 12 for a full on audio attack.

Astrochildren's drummer Izaak bashed on his cracked gold cymbals to make sure they were ready to give way for another night of RockNRoll torture, thankfully they were. Distorted feedback rang out throughout the room like a foggy mist with an amp fighting against lead guitarist Millie. Eventually the amp was seduced and dominated into submission and the songs flowed like a tsunami. My favourite two songs of the night were 'Boys Encourage Female Rivalry" discussing gender issues and feeling inadequate faced by the beautiful other as well as the new single on the 7 inch vinyl 'when you lose'. I always enjoy hearing lyrics from a feminine perspective and also know how Millie felt as men also struggle with identity issues and body dis-morphia.

I firmly believe musics a sick art form to educate people about social issues, but sometimes it's good not to end up preaching to the choir. At one point I was almost overpowered by the volume of the Astro set and had to stand outside and get some fresh air while being splattered by rain. Eventually I sucked in my guts and went inside to finish off the gig. In all honesty I was stoked to see the droony uncompromising style of Astrochildren as I came away from their set knowing they had given everything they had on stage and feeling buzzed out that new Kiwi artists aren't afraid to be themselves 100%.

It's also pretty obvious now on reflection that Astrochildren are about jarring people and making them feel uncomfortable through music. They want to test your belief systems and the socially ingrained status quo that lives within every member of New Zealand society. Kinda like the first matrix movie I mean do you want to step out into the real world with Astrochildren surrounded by the heaving weight of social disparities or do you just want to sit on a chair and drink beers and not really give a fark.

Miss June:

After being an online fan of Miss June on the back of their debut E.P "Matriarchy" I was excited to see them play. I managed to make out the whole band in the crowd and it was sweet to see them supporting the other bands always a sweet move. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the intimate glances that the band members would do to each other like a platoon or a militant army psyching themselves up before storming the barricades of the packed house to rocknroll. For their first song they launched into a grunge blast beat after a showy musical flex of virtuosity in a pre-set warm up that I wish had been an actually song haha. Fanboy dis-claimer I also developed a great respect for Miss June's drummer and appreciated his lightning fast jazz chops and powerful as well as unique combinations behind the drums.

The bands first song really started to get cooking when the guitar dropped with a snarl whipping crash driving the moshing crowd into unrestrained fury. The venue was pretty small for a circle of death but as the set progressed things started to get pretty hectic with myself trying to avoid another elbow in the stomach ones enough lol. The song that really sent people into hyper drive and caused the room to shudder was 'Clyde the Turtle' people were singing the chorus from the opening guitar twang and when the chorus dropped everyone went bezerk and the crowd turned into a raging horde of insanity, well you know what I mean. A guy i was next to moshing was dressed up in a classic punk outfit and he had a kinda of devilish vibe about him, I thought perhaps he was gonna go stir crazy but surprisingly he was quite civil and well behaved in the crowd.

Andrew from Die Die Die was also halfway up the stairs hanging through the rafters filming Miss June which was cool to see and made me thought man everybody's a director these days and the film is well our lives haha. Their was also a bit of funny banter from lead singer Annabel Liddel as she explained how basic her guitar part is for the song 'Clyde' plonking one string with a laugh. If I can remember the band played an encore with Annabel doing a post-mint chicks unstable vocal delivery on amp after losing her black beret and the set ended. Many people wanted more music but fark'em sometimes you get what your given laughs and have to flog that shit on trade me.

When a iPad powered Polaroid photo booth saves the day - Re-O week party AK university

I went out to a 90's throwback re-orientation event on Thursday and danced for a solid three hours. When I got there it was pretty much just my friend Jimmy and his compadre to the left of him. The night before the gig had been downgraded from the studio with two headlining acts to an intimate affair at the Wine bar on AK campus.

When I arrived the beats were slamming around the empty bourgeoisie bar like a richoteting bullet. Thankfully the venue had free pizza but no drink specials which was kind of lame, since we spent $15 to attend a venue that people usually go to for free - I guess someone had to pay the DJs bill namely all 60 people in attendance.

The saving grace of the party was when my new friend Sai rocked up with his two peeps who knew how to dance!! and other people slowly filtered in too and creating a sweet party atmosphere. The promoters also preformed a master stroke by having this kick ass photo both installed powered by an iPad that meant everybody could take Polaroid photos of themselves and their crew. Personally I think the first photos of the night were the best before people started to get loose haha everyone was super well behaved though. The photo booth really added some super sweet vibes to the night more than making up for the event being downgraded ha just a sign of the times people!

I wasn't really drinking at the party preferring to kick back on a redbull that my friend Jimmy got me thanks broske! And a a Charlie's OJ I got. I do vividly remember from the night how some shy woman dancing in the corner who looked like they were having heaps of light hearted fun slowly started to attack and bump and grind on the cardboard cut out of Enrique Inglesias which was rather funny. Poor guy I beat he was exhausted when the event wrapped up at 11pm. The play list was also hilarious being pure 90's nostalgia with Aqua's "I'm a Barbie Girl" being the most memorable song setting the dancefloor on fire decades after its release, winning. Who said Re-O week sucks man the party went off and everyone had a great time, real talk.

Aquatic poem

Cast adrift in an ocean of spit ten miles off the ruggard coastline No more mainland Engulfed by water In all four corners Open sea forever Far as the eye can see im surrounded by Restless waves that Sweep me around They encircle me Almost taunt me like a tiger shark Except more lonely I wonder if the sea will drown me or forgive a little Im treading water Whilst the moon rises I start to shiver A dark storm broods small cuts on my fingers have lead sharp teeth and dorcel fins far from home To my muddy patch of h2o the faintest trace of blood skims the surface I have no choice left i take my last breath dive down Closes my eyes tightly underwater There is no sound black nothingness Then its over
